Really, Avery's First Big Kid Playdate

So proud of our boy!

Yesterday, his friend's mom picked him up (as seen in the note yesterday).    He's had playdates before at friend's homes, but usually with his sitter, or grandma, or with me there.  So this was a 'get in another car, go to someone's house, by yourself..."   So first "big boy" playdate.

And here is the note I just received,

Hi Jane,
I just want to tell you that Avery is such a sweet boy. He is just so cute, fun and thoughtful. He and Devin get along really well.  Devin's already asking when they can have another playdate!  Avery was just a pleasure to have over and we'd love to have him come back any time.

Updates: 1. Avery has learned how to gallop. He calls it skipping, and he has been doing it all around the living room, street, park, store... since yesterday afternoon. Everywhere. 2. A New Food Every Three Days...

If you were to try a new food every three days for about a year, don't you think you'd get to the point where you had to be really creative to find something new? With combinations of ingredients, knowing that you have tried one dish, you would think that you'd exhaust the possibilities. Well, we've been new foods like this for some time now, and every time I go to the grocery or Farmer's Market, I come back with something new for Avery. Ritz crackers were introduced today! Chive cream cheese was on the menu a few days ago. This evening, we combined the two for Ritz cracker and chive cream cheese fiesta. Avery hogged down seven crackers piled high with cream cheese, had a huge piece of extra sharp cheddar, and some berry applesauce. This was all washed down with a huge bottle of organic whole milk, which friend Jeanna says, "tastes like fresh cut grass and ice cream."
