Reading with Grandma Sally

Image
Grandma Sally brought over a little collection of tiny board books with pictures of trucks on topics like "The Seasons", "Colors", and "Words". We're not sure what it is about certain books that Avery just loves. Is it being read to? Or is it just that these books are small, can fit in his little chubby hands. Or is it the trucks? We're not sure. But we know he loves them!

We visited the local dump today. It's not as bad as it sounds. There is a Swap Shop there, which is a little store with various toys, books and other sundry items you can take for free, or leave pre-dumping. There is also a place you can bring your recycling. When you enter, you pass through a little check point and have to state your purpose for visiting to the public works staff member. We told him we were there to "see the trucks", which he found funny. We also fit in some Swap Shopping for Avery. Avery loved the trucks! He pointed at the huge dump truck, and the shiny, silver recycling trucks. He and his dad share a love of all things TRUCK related. Sally even bought him a little book from the library today and he only wanted to see the vehicle pages, and kept pointing to the pictures of cars. Tomorrow, we'll see some contruction at the library, and we're sure Avery will really enjoy it. After returning from the dump, it was time for lunch. Walker ...
