On the Beach...and Reading with the Fam

Image
Avery had a long walk with his papa this AM to Connie's Bakery. He enjoyed challah rolls and apple fritters, and met Jack and Keyla (two weeks younger than Avery), who he later ran into at the playground. When he returned, he spent some time in the beach, running right up into the water. He then squealed a bit and pointed, clearly not wanting the water to go any higher than mid-chubby thigh. At night, before dinner, Avery read some books with Grandpa Tom and Grandma Sally, and with his dad. He loves the book "Little/Big", but we think it's mostly because it's a perfect size for his little hand.

Babies in Bandanas

Avery's new headwear is the perfect 1-year-old solution for keeping the sun away. He doesn't really like hats unless they are tilted just so. We made a little Aunt Jemima bandana for him today. He spent some time with Grandpop Tom, playing with his cars. He then rested up in the hammock with Grandma Sally. Later, we took a walk downtown, where Walker reminisced about McGyvering a solution for explosive poops last year this time.

Avery's Throne

Avery got a new fancy little seat at his grandparent's, Tom and Sally's this weekend. He was delighted to sit in it and have his feet touch the floor! Looking at this picture and post from yesterday, Avery looks like a little MAN. It's all out of scale, really, he's still baby 1 year old size. But doesn't he look like a round little older person, who just happens to be drinking a bottle? Thanks to grandpa Tom for the photograph.
