From the Mouths of (Our) Babes

At the playground today, Avery had a little spill that gave him his first fat lip. He'll be OK, of course, it was just the clearly totally dangerous play equipment that got in his way! Before the mishap, however, he had a lot of fun playing on the car, pretending to drive. He got so good, we let him drive us home.

Avery took his first photograph! I said, "Press this button when you want to take a picture." He stuck out his little index finger, while looking at the display, and decided to take this shot. Look at the composition! What an eye.

Avery's new trick is beeping. If you say beep! beep! to him, he'll reply with a similar sound. It's funny, the things he learns. I mean, we clearly didn't intend for him to learn this trick, or try to teach him to beep. But it does make us laugh!

We took Avery to the cemetery on a walk yesterday, and he loved climbing the graves and sitting in the shade. It sounds like quite a morbid place to visit, but it was really tranquil and pretty. And there is so much room to roam, and not much to get in his way. Avery has also discovered a new baby yoga move. He makes us laugh by getting upside down and looking between his legs.
