Which family photo for TPS wall?




We're likely the last family to post a pic, which we were asked to do probably the second week of school! They have been discussing families, and though on the "family wall" it looks like EVERYONE has two kids and two parents, I know part of the discussion is about how families can be so many different things. They are also discussing faces and traits, and Avery has had fun describing and drawing himself and the family.

These were just taken at Storm King last week. We have a million crazy ones, and in none of them can you see my eyes, and none really captured Avery the right way...but these are sort of cute. I love the second one, so perhaps that is what we'll go with. There is just something mature about Avery's expression. And the background is simply ... wow. I don't even remember the day being THAT gorgeous!

Updates: 1. Avery has learned how to gallop. He calls it skipping, and he has been doing it all around the living room, street, park, store... since yesterday afternoon. Everywhere. 2. A New Food Every Three Days...

If you were to try a new food every three days for about a year, don't you think you'd get to the point where you had to be really creative to find something new? With combinations of ingredients, knowing that you have tried one dish, you would think that you'd exhaust the possibilities. Well, we've been new foods like this for some time now, and every time I go to the grocery or Farmer's Market, I come back with something new for Avery. Ritz crackers were introduced today! Chive cream cheese was on the menu a few days ago. This evening, we combined the two for Ritz cracker and chive cream cheese fiesta. Avery hogged down seven crackers piled high with cream cheese, had a huge piece of extra sharp cheddar, and some berry applesauce. This was all washed down with a huge bottle of organic whole milk, which friend Jeanna says, "tastes like fresh cut grass and ice cream."
