Letter from Avery's School today...
Aw, made me teary. We will miss you, Trinity!!! Avery's off to the big kid school September 7th-approaching fast.
Dear Parents,
As the end of the school year quickly approaches, we wanted to take a minute to thank you for sharing your children with us. It's been an exciting year in the Intermediate class with many firsts. We've faced everything from starting school for the first time, conquering the potty, meeting new friends, to singing in front of the whole class with Mr. Joe and have done so with enthusiasm. We've all learned to take a chance and try new things.
Our creativity soared with our art imagination exercises, interactive stories, dramatic play experiences and continuous exploration of the world around us. We read books by the dozens and were thrilled to have so many wonderful stories brought in by the children each day. Through these works we explored everything from why you shouldn't give a mouse a cookie to where the wild things are and the children loved it.
We exercised our large muscles with Miss. Amanda in yoga, Yaqshaan in dance, running and using the jungle gym at Taney, climbing and riding in bike area and kicking up our heels playing freeze dance after lunch. Small muscles were challenged by scissors, lacing cards, forming words to practice our sign language vocabulary, paint brushes, beads and table toys.
We were introduced to the world of science through weighing rocks on our scale, measuring sand and water at our tables, collecting leaves, rocks and anything else we could fit into a bag at Taney, exploring the world through our magnifying glasses to catch every detail and making cool space mud and playdough. We also tried our hands at cooking and whipped up pancakes, waffles, cupcakes, pudding and biscuits.
In addition, we learned to share, use our words, wait for a turn, pick our jobs, set the snack table, put on our socks and shoes, write our names and identify the days of the week and the weather conditions each day. We learned to make friends, to play fair and to realize no argument is ever so serious it can't be solved by sharing a cookie at the snack table.
We shared birthdays, boo-boos, hugs and laughs as we helped your children to grow and learn. It has been our pleasure getting to know your little ones. We will miss them and keep them in our hearts. Take care and enjoy the rest of your summer.
