First Sleep Over (of another kind)

On Friday, one of Avery's bestest friends, Charlie, as seen here:

....from their younger years....is sleeping over. He lives about four blocks away, so this first sleep over experience is close to home. Avery is SO excited! So we're trying to figure out sleeping arrangements, and help make Avery's bottom "bunk" on his new bed more comfortable for Charlie.

I asked Avery what we might do, or plan, or eat. He told me that he doesn't want to eat anything, or plan anything, he just wants to play with cars with Charlie...all.night.long.

so there.


We're making secret plans to take them to a playground to run them around, then a photography show for First Friday, and then dinner some place kid-friendly.

So there it is.

Updates: 1. Avery has learned how to gallop. He calls it skipping, and he has been doing it all around the living room, street, park, store... since yesterday afternoon. Everywhere. 2. A New Food Every Three Days...

If you were to try a new food every three days for about a year, don't you think you'd get to the point where you had to be really creative to find something new? With combinations of ingredients, knowing that you have tried one dish, you would think that you'd exhaust the possibilities. Well, we've been new foods like this for some time now, and every time I go to the grocery or Farmer's Market, I come back with something new for Avery. Ritz crackers were introduced today! Chive cream cheese was on the menu a few days ago. This evening, we combined the two for Ritz cracker and chive cream cheese fiesta. Avery hogged down seven crackers piled high with cream cheese, had a huge piece of extra sharp cheddar, and some berry applesauce. This was all washed down with a huge bottle of organic whole milk, which friend Jeanna says, "tastes like fresh cut grass and ice cream."
