Zebra Rug

We have this zebra rug that Sally and Tom gave us. They had received it for their wedding, and we wonder if it's even legal today. BUT, it's cool, and that's totally beside the point. SOOOOO, we were reading stories, and Walker told Avery he was standing on the zebra rug. Avery corrected, and said, "That's funny! It's not a zebra RUG. A zebra GAVE us this rug. He gave us his whole body for the rug."

OK, this might sound terrible, but...reading this took me back to the days where my parents would haul us to Mass. And of course we were old to get indoctrinated, and all of it was new to us. And so there I was listening to how Christ gave it all up for us and intoning "body of Christ" and "blood of Christ" - and I'm sure it's just profane to practically compare Christ and a zebra, but there you have it.

Updates: 1. Avery has learned how to gallop. He calls it skipping, and he has been doing it all around the living room, street, park, store... since yesterday afternoon. Everywhere. 2. A New Food Every Three Days...

If you were to try a new food every three days for about a year, don't you think you'd get to the point where you had to be really creative to find something new? With combinations of ingredients, knowing that you have tried one dish, you would think that you'd exhaust the possibilities. Well, we've been new foods like this for some time now, and every time I go to the grocery or Farmer's Market, I come back with something new for Avery. Ritz crackers were introduced today! Chive cream cheese was on the menu a few days ago. This evening, we combined the two for Ritz cracker and chive cream cheese fiesta. Avery hogged down seven crackers piled high with cream cheese, had a huge piece of extra sharp cheddar, and some berry applesauce. This was all washed down with a huge bottle of organic whole milk, which friend Jeanna says, "tastes like fresh cut grass and ice cream."
