Flamenco Dancing

Avery went to a concert at the Mann today. It was 104 degrees, and maybe 50 kids under age 5. And Walker joined. What a good dad.

I just asked Avery to tell me about it, and he said, "Bump Bump. Bump. Bump. Bump. It was drums. That's why I said bump bump bump. There was people and some drums started and some ladies come. Some ladies come with a big costume. Those ladies were big. You have to really practice to get into those costumes. Those are special costumes."

General feeling was that it was a nice diversion, a REALLY hot day, and all the kids wilted on the way home. Avery fell asleep on the bus, and didn't even have any lunch first. We are all very, very tired on this HOT August day.

Updates: 1. Avery has learned how to gallop. He calls it skipping, and he has been doing it all around the living room, street, park, store... since yesterday afternoon. Everywhere. 2. A New Food Every Three Days...

If you were to try a new food every three days for about a year, don't you think you'd get to the point where you had to be really creative to find something new? With combinations of ingredients, knowing that you have tried one dish, you would think that you'd exhaust the possibilities. Well, we've been new foods like this for some time now, and every time I go to the grocery or Farmer's Market, I come back with something new for Avery. Ritz crackers were introduced today! Chive cream cheese was on the menu a few days ago. This evening, we combined the two for Ritz cracker and chive cream cheese fiesta. Avery hogged down seven crackers piled high with cream cheese, had a huge piece of extra sharp cheddar, and some berry applesauce. This was all washed down with a huge bottle of organic whole milk, which friend Jeanna says, "tastes like fresh cut grass and ice cream."
