Avery Hearts NY
The only way we'd make our train to NY on Friday, Walker said, was if it was 15 minutes late...and it was. We knew this would be sign of good weekend.
When we arrived in New York, Avery was very excited. He ran around the room, in his diaper, yelling that he was SO excited that we were at IKEA. Why did he think we were at IKEA? I have no idea.
We had breakfast the Club, where Avery was thrilled to learn that he could take anything he wanted from the buffet. Yogurt? Yup. Berries? Yup. Apple juice? They had it all.
We took a walk to the MOMA, stopping at the fountain to make some wishes (for dinosaurs and stars) and at the skating rink at Rockerfeller Center. Visiting the MOMA might have been slightly unfair because there were so many things we couldn't touch. Avery had the most fun just lying on the "sofa" and looking up at the helicopter...though he really wanted it to vroom, and was convinced there WAS enough room to do so.

I just love the pictures of Avery looking up at the helicopter... so I have to post a few more:

Later we met up with Michelle, and Avery had fun with the camera, after declaring she was "Princess Michelle" with his breadstick wand":

Then, he took some shots of NYC:

We found a great restaurant, where he charmed the owner, said, "Grazie" when she brought him some special sauce, and randomly walked up to a pretty young blond girl at the bar near our table to introduce himself.

We got to relax, have wine, sleep, eat, and overall, have just a fabulous weekend!
Thanks so much to Sashee for treating us to the hotel!
Avery loved the train rides, too. He danced in the aisle, proclaiming, "I've never danced on train before, mom, but where's the music?" Then, he started to sing and dance---making his own music.
