Happy Father's Day

Avery's been getting up at night, or really early, for the past few days, so the Father's Day posting is a little belated. We think it's the heat---or the weekends of fun, after which he has a hard time winding down. Who knows? We are trying to have normal days, and even had a bike ride early in the AM. We realized at one point yesterday that we all had breakfast, loaded up the bikes, made a round trip ride past the boat houses and back, and went to the playground---all before 9am. But we are all tired. We hope everyone understands.





A cute story-Avery pointed to the globe last night and said, "Philadelphia." His whole world IS Philadelphia right now, so that seems to make sense.

Updates: 1. Avery has learned how to gallop. He calls it skipping, and he has been doing it all around the living room, street, park, store... since yesterday afternoon. Everywhere. 2. A New Food Every Three Days...

If you were to try a new food every three days for about a year, don't you think you'd get to the point where you had to be really creative to find something new? With combinations of ingredients, knowing that you have tried one dish, you would think that you'd exhaust the possibilities. Well, we've been new foods like this for some time now, and every time I go to the grocery or Farmer's Market, I come back with something new for Avery. Ritz crackers were introduced today! Chive cream cheese was on the menu a few days ago. This evening, we combined the two for Ritz cracker and chive cream cheese fiesta. Avery hogged down seven crackers piled high with cream cheese, had a huge piece of extra sharp cheddar, and some berry applesauce. This was all washed down with a huge bottle of organic whole milk, which friend Jeanna says, "tastes like fresh cut grass and ice cream."
