He's Got Legs!




Avery loved his party so much yesterday. All the people he loved most in the world were in one room. He took a nap about 2 minutes after everyone left, and was distressed to wake up by himself. He asked where everyone was, and was really sad to learn everyone went home. He loved seeing everyone and sharing cake with Charlie and Sophia on the front step. And, of course, he LOVED seeing his super cousin, Finn.

When he woke up this morning he requested, "Finny shoes!" He got a new pair of sneakers from Nan, and I think he thought they used to be Finny's (hand-me-downs make up about 80% of his wardrobe). He said, "Tiny Finny wear these shoes."

He didn't even want to wait for pants.

Updates: 1. Avery has learned how to gallop. He calls it skipping, and he has been doing it all around the living room, street, park, store... since yesterday afternoon. Everywhere. 2. A New Food Every Three Days...

If you were to try a new food every three days for about a year, don't you think you'd get to the point where you had to be really creative to find something new? With combinations of ingredients, knowing that you have tried one dish, you would think that you'd exhaust the possibilities. Well, we've been new foods like this for some time now, and every time I go to the grocery or Farmer's Market, I come back with something new for Avery. Ritz crackers were introduced today! Chive cream cheese was on the menu a few days ago. This evening, we combined the two for Ritz cracker and chive cream cheese fiesta. Avery hogged down seven crackers piled high with cream cheese, had a huge piece of extra sharp cheddar, and some berry applesauce. This was all washed down with a huge bottle of organic whole milk, which friend Jeanna says, "tastes like fresh cut grass and ice cream."
