Avery Meets Saaahhhhmmm






Avery spent some time with his friend, Gabriel, and also Gabriel's new brother, Sam (or, as as he calls him, Sahm.) Things were going great. Avery showed Sam his cars, and picked grass and held it up to Sam's face. He found some tiny rocks and wanted Sam to eat them, to which Sam's mom replied that baby's don't have teeth and cannot eat hard things (and, well, I guess it's assumed we don't actually eat rocks?)


Avery got a little overzealous near the end and pinched Sam's tiny cheek a little too hard. Then, he kind of tackled Gabriel while they were sitting nicely in a tree. Luckily, all the kids kind of cued our time to leave around the same time. We should all take time out of the day for naps.

Updates: 1. Avery has learned how to gallop. He calls it skipping, and he has been doing it all around the living room, street, park, store... since yesterday afternoon. Everywhere. 2. A New Food Every Three Days...

If you were to try a new food every three days for about a year, don't you think you'd get to the point where you had to be really creative to find something new? With combinations of ingredients, knowing that you have tried one dish, you would think that you'd exhaust the possibilities. Well, we've been new foods like this for some time now, and every time I go to the grocery or Farmer's Market, I come back with something new for Avery. Ritz crackers were introduced today! Chive cream cheese was on the menu a few days ago. This evening, we combined the two for Ritz cracker and chive cream cheese fiesta. Avery hogged down seven crackers piled high with cream cheese, had a huge piece of extra sharp cheddar, and some berry applesauce. This was all washed down with a huge bottle of organic whole milk, which friend Jeanna says, "tastes like fresh cut grass and ice cream."
