Avery's Version of Toddler Behavior

So far, Avery appears to be a very reasonable little guy. He loves being helpful when we are doing projects, and let's us know when he's "schleepy" and wants to take a "nappy".

However, he likes to push the limits sometimes, and just do funny things to get a rise out of us. Some of them are more menacing than others. On the not very menacing side, for example, this morning we were playing PeekABoo under the table. He was having a really great time, as you can see:



Then, I said, "Avery, SMILE!", and this is what he did:

I also gave him a haircut and think I caused him to have a little cowlick sticky-up part in the back. Oh well. His hair grows SO fast; a few days and it'll be fine.

Updates: 1. Avery has learned how to gallop. He calls it skipping, and he has been doing it all around the living room, street, park, store... since yesterday afternoon. Everywhere. 2. A New Food Every Three Days...

If you were to try a new food every three days for about a year, don't you think you'd get to the point where you had to be really creative to find something new? With combinations of ingredients, knowing that you have tried one dish, you would think that you'd exhaust the possibilities. Well, we've been new foods like this for some time now, and every time I go to the grocery or Farmer's Market, I come back with something new for Avery. Ritz crackers were introduced today! Chive cream cheese was on the menu a few days ago. This evening, we combined the two for Ritz cracker and chive cream cheese fiesta. Avery hogged down seven crackers piled high with cream cheese, had a huge piece of extra sharp cheddar, and some berry applesauce. This was all washed down with a huge bottle of organic whole milk, which friend Jeanna says, "tastes like fresh cut grass and ice cream."
