We love hand-me-downs, but Avery...


...not so much.

We got this great big bag of wonderful clothes from Walker's co-workers. The hand-me-downs we get are a collection of clothing passed through four different boys...two sets of brothers. By the time we get things, they are not as well worn as you'd think because kids wear clothing for such short periods.

Sooooo, we got a bag a few days ago, and thought Avery would love this fleece Elmo sweatshirt. He loves Elmo, or at least chants, "Elmo! Elmo! Elmo!" every chance he gets. I do like that he responds to Elmo without our having to get any annoying videos or music by Elmo, just the little pictures and stickers and dolls are fine with me.

When I saw the sweatshirt, I thought--soft, warm, and has Elmo plastered across the front. Perfect for a Fall day!

Avery did not agree, and quickly responded with his "You're torturing me." face.

Updates: 1. Avery has learned how to gallop. He calls it skipping, and he has been doing it all around the living room, street, park, store... since yesterday afternoon. Everywhere. 2. A New Food Every Three Days...

If you were to try a new food every three days for about a year, don't you think you'd get to the point where you had to be really creative to find something new? With combinations of ingredients, knowing that you have tried one dish, you would think that you'd exhaust the possibilities. Well, we've been new foods like this for some time now, and every time I go to the grocery or Farmer's Market, I come back with something new for Avery. Ritz crackers were introduced today! Chive cream cheese was on the menu a few days ago. This evening, we combined the two for Ritz cracker and chive cream cheese fiesta. Avery hogged down seven crackers piled high with cream cheese, had a huge piece of extra sharp cheddar, and some berry applesauce. This was all washed down with a huge bottle of organic whole milk, which friend Jeanna says, "tastes like fresh cut grass and ice cream."
